In addition to the previously released Wave 2 NDWS Restricted Use Survey Files (RUFs), the remainder of W2 data are now available: (1) data from the Home Care survey as RUFs, and the Public Use Files (PUFs).
Home Care Data
There are two Home Care restricted use data files available. The first includes combined staff data from the first two waves of agency-based data collection. Given the relatively small sample size, this file is not weighted to be nationally representative. In addition, during Wave 2 we completed a data collection pilot directly recruiting individuals from a state-based licensing list; those data are also available.
Learn more about home care sample design, instruments, and data collection in the Home Care User Guide on the Surveys page (click on Wave 2 tab).
Public Use Files (PUFs)
The updated Community Clinician (Wave 1 Final), and Nursing Home, and Assisted Living Staff Public Use Files are now available through NACDA.
While new Wave 2 samples were recruited for the organizational surveys, the CC survey continued data collection from the original Wave 1 sample, recruiting over 1,800 additional respondents. This data release is referred to as Wave 1 FINAL and replaces last year's initial Wave 1 release.
Updated versions of the surveys in NACDA and on the Surveys page of the NDWS website include a description of our disclosure review process and identifies which variables were masked or removed during PUF preparation to safeguard respondent privacy.
