Pilot Grants

NDWS conducts an annual, national competition for pilot research projects to accelerate use of survey data of the professional dementia care workforce and linked data sources.

Applications for Cycle 3 pilot grants have closed. Recipients will be announced in August 2026. Look for the next call for applications in Spring 2027.

While specifics may vary year-to-year, grants are typically for 12-month projects (18 months if using linked data) and support direct costs up to approximately $100,000. In Cycle 3, both small and large awards were available.

Proposed projects should use survey data from at least one NDWS survey setting and advance at least one NIA AD+ADRD Research Implementation Milestone.

Recipients will have access to additional support from NDWS, including biostatistical consultation, to promote successful completion and dissemination.
